French, married to an American: Hubby. exprt Since 2006 in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carol

Wednesday, May 20 was the day preparing for the hike. On the program: -The races for the grub -Prepare the hiking bags and -Go see Star Trek at the movies. In the order cited by Hubby, I am well tide and I had asked him if it was going to Star Trek give us advice for hiking :). Well I laugh but I liked the film anyway. Thursday morning waking early. The bags are ready, we take the car steering Shining Rock the Blue Ridge Parkway. The view is beautiful, and we go up in altitude most is a return to early spring, allergies subside, I love. Temperatures were damn cooler in the car park, no matter exprt at least we did not risk dying of heat. We quickly attacked hiking, the aim being to make a loop and camp near Shining Shining Rock or Rock Pass. We attacked by the way of Investor Gap is more than a forest road trail for half the journey. Large enough that forestry services can move in four four. With all the rain we've had this month we were not so surprised by the passage of obstacles: namely the puddles and mud that covered the road. Jumping from rock to rock it's funny at first but I was force still ready to have a dry trail.
Walking exprt pretty chain has not been so long, between 2 and 3 hours I think, is court but still a good exercise exprt with the bags back. And the goal was not to make the distance but to go camping in the mountains. Halfway around we arrived at Investor Gap which marks the boundary of the Zone or wildnerness Wild Area. From that time the roads are not marked with paint, more panels, exprt it's just the brands that are passages of all feet. More ATV or not horses, but to our surprise no prohibition to have dogs or keep them on a leash. Moreover, we will cross some. What was previously exprt a forest road is reduced to a wide path. The sky was clear blue begins to cover quickly, clouds. A quick stop on the way to lunch aboard to regain energy and 30-45mn later we Shining Rock Gap, neck last. We explore the surroundings. It has something to plant a hundred exprt tents in my opinion, lots of corner made for and well used. I am shocked to see many traces campfire while the fires are prohibited in the wilderness (evening refreshing me, I have a mind of but resist the temptation). We choose to go to Shining Rock before installing the camp, just a few minutes walk from the cervix and then we already met a beautiful white stone block. A few meters away is a white stall on the floor, rosé and gray foam that contrast exprt on the stone. Shining Rock where the rock that glitters is named for that facade Quartz often shining in the sun. This is an easy day hikes and it is well worth the walk. We explore a bit the top and back down to the pass to set up the tent, wind it up and it will take many discussions to find THE place to pitch the tent. I wanted to avoid the wind and enjoy the vegetation exprt cover. It's still early but with the cloud cover it's like two hours later. Tonight we eat early, on the menu: Miso soup mixed with a vegetable stock cube. Ahh the joy of a hot drink as temperatures fall rapidly with the wind! Followed by a dish of spicy chickpea and rice. I just regret not having brought the chocolate with us. Before you go to bed you must install the system bears otherwise say to all provisions in an airtight bag that will be attached in height. This is the first time that I have to do that, and I confess that I woke up several times in the middle of night when he heard a noise, wondering if a black bear was around. Fortunately our only company was the squirrels, idle and Mr. (or Ms.) Rabbit. Under the tent, Hubby teach me to play poker, then we do a battle, well wrapped in our blankets. Night falls, exprt we are in bed early. It will take me several hours to take off my fleece, once the cold above it is difficult to get rid of.
